Adjusting
The goats seem to be adjusting well to the matriarch's absence. Butter is assuming the role very nicely. She has become protective of the three kids, something she didn't jump at early on in motherhood. She goes crazy if they leave her alone, which sometimes they did when they went through their little hole to their own stall. One warm afternoon I found them like this...

This may be somewhere already, but I didn't look: what kind of goats are these? They are so beautiful. I have been sort of thinking about/fantasizing about getting goats and chickens, so finding your blog has been a blessing! I look forward to learning more from you...

These are Nubians. They are a dairy breed and great milkers with some of the highest butterfat content in their milk.
